Hello and welcome to my blog.
I’m a cis queer / gay man originally from Greece. This is my space, my home, where I can be unapologetically and indulgently me and where I can (hopefully) express myself freely.
My given surname is longer and more difficult to pronounce but that’s not the reason I’ve changed it. Thanou in greek means Thanos’s which means that I belong to myself. It’s also fair to say that most people who share my surname have much less in common with me than anyone mildly interested in reading this blog… And I also want to protect their identities too, since what I share here is quite personal and often not in agreement with their values and the people around them. On another level, writing vulnerable doesn’t always go down well in the corporate world. I’m thankfully currently not involved in it a lot (if at all) but I might need to if things get harder, so using a different name is a way to protect myself.
I’ve been kind of living the digital nomad kind of life but I’m currently mostly based in Berlin. I make a living by developing websites (currently open to taking new projects if you’re interested!). In my quest to find something creative to be passionate about I thought of giving writing a go. I’ve been writing a lot in my diary for years so I guess my passion was there already but I was too short-sighted to see it.
I don’t think there’s more that I need to say. I’m pretty sure if you read what I write on here you’ll get a better idea about who I am than any About page could give.
If you just arrived then you can start here, a page where I give some gentle guidance on how to read my stuff.
